Stress Free.

Do you ever feel like the days that you want to last forever never do and the ones you wish would just fly by seem to last the longest? Or your doing everything you can to make something right and it always seems to go wrong?

I'm beginning to feel that way about my weeks.  I have decided to let bygones be bygones and just take each day one step at a time. I feel like I say this all the time and then I get wrapped up in something within that DAY that I'm trying tackle.  But I have found, going to bed a little earlier, making time to watch my favorite shows, and setting nights aside to see the ones I love is really helping!  I'm still able to make time to get everything I need to do, done as well as containing a social life in the process.

Stuck Waiting For A Prescription Refill.

I am on a decorating kick, first beginning in my bedroom,

where Ryan put up my curtains and I put up some pictures,
and leaving my bedroom to rest until Ryan arrives, I have moved on to the bathroom.
It's funny how you can run to the store for one simple thing and end up leaving with more than you intended.

All I wanted was a hand towel rack,

Although putting it together was confusing in itself, I managed to make it happen.
But as you can see, buying a new towel rack therein led me to buy a new hand towel since I do not own any.

This then led me to buy the matching shower curtain, which I did ponder over before leaving the store with it.

The old curtain I received from my friend when she moved to Raleigh, I felt it was time to bring my bathroom more together.

Before leaving the bathroom section, as I quickly tried to do, I saw two things I could not leave without.
After buying soap refills in bulk, I felt it only made sense that I buy a reusable soap dispenser/container.  And of course, as most stores do, right next to the soap dispenser was a matching toothbrush holder.  I had just thrown mine away due to size and stability, so how could I walk away?

Overall the experience was fun,
but I will not be returning to Target any time soon.

Happiness Is Key.

Now that we are two weeks into the New Year, I have finally decided what my New Years Resolution is going to be this year...
Be Positive
I was seriously considering not having one this year because I was done with attempting to loose weight or whatever and fail, so I'm going towards a route that will require me to watch the way I react to what is going on around me.

I would like to try and allow my naturally happy self out.
What's your New Years Resolution?

DIY Is Never Easy.

I finally started "decorating" my room!
After almost a year and a half of living there I drove to IKEA to grab a few things.
The first, curtains, which I swear will be the death of me!
For over an hour I put hole after hold after hole into my wall above and around the window and could not get away from the studs! Who does that? Who puts studs all around a window?
I can see where the person before me put their curtain rod, and after attempting to put mine in the same place, found that my rod is not long enough! Luckily, Ryan is on his way here today and I was nice enough to let him know that a project is awaiting him the moment he arrives.  I have lined up all the tools at his convenience.
Hopefully he can turn my disaster into a success!

This here is what I'm aiming for. Maybe I didn't screw the holders in high enough....good to know.

I also bought picture frames....that are to big for the pictures I bought a year ago.  So instead of returning them for a smaller size, I kept them and taped the pictures to white printing paper! Some may call this 'thinking on ones toes' or some may call it what it really is, to lazy to return to the store and exchange for proper sizes.
I was so excited to get a jump start on making my room more like me and wound up finding that everything I bought is far to small...I guess my room is like me.

It will all come together, I just know it. And once it's finished, not going to lie, I'm going to show off my new and improved room! Who knows maybe some painting will happen too...or maybe I won't...till next time.

Hello Cold Weather..I Mean Warm...I mean Cool...

Since Mother Nature cannot decide whether to give us fall, winter, or sometimes spring some days, I like to be prepared. I love wearing scarves and am usually wearing them the same old tired way over and over again. Loving the look I get from the infinity scarf, I would like to give my other scarves some attention also.
For those that are tired of wearing their scarves the same way day after day, here are 6 different ways to wear a scarf!
I can't wait to try them all, although a few do look challenging.

Do you have other ways to wear a scarf that is not listed here?

A Fun Start To A Fun Night.

Happy December!

With the fall semester finally over, all I can think about is the free time I will acquire, having Tuesdays and Thursdays open for the next few weeks! I'm ready to catch up with my friends and celebrate the end of 2011 and the beginning of 2012!
Yes, I know Christmas is right around the corner, and so I found these cute appetizer ideas one can use for a fun Christmas party or better yet, New Years Eve party!
Who wouldn't want to nibble on a small stack of pancakes followed by milk and a cookie!

It's fun taking an idea and putting a festive spin on it!
I can't wait for what's to come!

Future Thinking.

As my friend Monica would say, "Don't plan to far ahead because you never know how it's going to turn out" maybe not in those exact words but fairly close.
But, I really can't help but plan for the future!  As Ryan's graduation date approaches nearer and mine soon to follow, I am all about what we are going to do next.
I have sent my cover letter and resume to a different magazine for my next internship and as I am waiting for the reply, I can't help but think of 2012.
I have so many ideas and am not real sure what to do with them.

Right now, I am all about finding something I love, and making the impossible, possible through DIY projects.
I don't have many things right now to fill a home, but I have the inspiration to make it happen.

One idea I have in mind is finding a few old chairs, sanding them to perfection, repainting them to my desired color and reupholstering the seats with my choice in fabric.  You can find how it's done here.

I love the cottage chic look I found in Charlotte Magazine, the antique table gives the room an edgier look while all the other pieces in the room are softer.
Those chairs actually used to brown!  I love that she repainted them white and reupholstered the seats to a powder blue!

What I'd give to get started today!

My Wedding Inspiration.

Ever since I randomly fell upon this song a few days ago I just can't get enough of it!
For those of you that don't know me, I am not a fan of country but for some reason The Band Perry is an exception.
Their song all your life depicts exactly the type of theme I want at my wedding and the words are to sweet to ignore.
Don't you agree?
I love the idea of a photo booth so everyone can goof off and remind us (and themselves later on) what a great time I hope they'll have.
Not to mention the various vintage items;
I find it beautiful.

I absolutely love this line:
I just want to be the only girl, you love all your life.
Gets me every time.

What is inspiration, or had inspired you, for your wedding?
